The Japanese Craft Festival was held in Dorog during a charming weekend, October 25–26, 2025.
The festival’s purpose was to share the beauty of traditional Japanese values with the Hungarian audience. Guests explored Japan’s rich cultural heritage through the exhibitors’ creations and experienced martial arts shows, tea ceremonies, and captivating bonsai shaping demonstrations.
Main Programs:
• The Bonsai Gardening Exhibition brought together miniature trees from Hungarian and international masters, and featured inspiring talks, live pruning demonstrations, and helpful guidance.
• The Japanese Craft Fair and workshops invited guests to experience origami, calligraphy, furoshiki wrapping, ceramic painting, and many other traditional techniques.
• The Martial Arts Demonstrations showcased aikido, kendo, karate, and jiu-jitsu, while masters also shared the philosophy behind each movement.
The event welcomed visitors with a rich selection of bonsai, and we were grateful to showcase two of our own plants, arranged in custom-designed stone composite pots.
Why our participation mattered to us?
For our team, presenting our stone composite bowls and bonsai set in rock compositions was a true delight. Beyond being an exhibition, it gave us the chance to share our passion for craftsmanship and our deep respect for nature with everyone who joined us.
We named it ‘The Cave,’ a one-of-a-kind stone composite pot that held our forsythia bonsai.
Another highlight of our display was a dwarf pine (Pinus mugo), set not in a classic bonsai pot but on a stone composite rock shaped like a miniature hillside, enriched with vibrant moss and delicate ferns.
During the festival, our stand drew plenty of curious visitors, who admired the distinctive design of the bowls and rocks and valued the fine craftsmanship in every detail.
Through personal conversations, we gained inspiring ideas that will guide our future improvements.
We sincerely thank the organizers for making this opportunity possible, the visitors for their uplifting feedback, and all those who helped with the smooth running and logistics of the event.
